HairMax Is One Epic Scam with Terrible Customer Service!

Here is an account of other HairMax products and their customer service.

I placed an order for the Fortify Scalp & Hair Mist and the Invigorating Scalp Treatment, each for $ 7.50 on their site. But to my utter surprise, they charged my credit card $39.00! I didn’t learn about it not until a few days later before I received the package. So I called them the minute I knew and asked them why. They purported that I ordered for the shampoo and conditioner as well which together cost $24.00! I was totally shocked and furious! I was more than certain I didn’t. So I asked them to review my taped conversation with a sales representative what’s-his-name and upon finding out that they made the mistake, they apologized. They asked me to have the product shipped back the moment I receive delivery. And I was like, how could they make such a dumb mistake?

Then after a week, I noticed the very same charge. I called them yet again but he only made me reiterate what happened and said that they’d call me the next morning. Guess what? I didn’t receive any call at all or a reply e-mail. I called again for the third time and told me the refund takes about more than 4 weeks to process. I was fuming! This company is seriously unbelievable. I actually thought that I was making a transaction with an established company. This is by far my worst customer service experience ever.

I’m through with this product. I’ll never purchase anything from this company again. Actually I have been holding out my patience for the HairMax LaserComb which I ordered several months ago. I can’t believe that I’m still using it with visibly zero results. My hairline kept receding and my hair is still the same limp hair I had before I purchased this product. I could just imagine the kind of favor I was doing them thinking that it’s just taking its time to kick in; only to realize a little too late that it’s just a pathetic scam. HairMax is the worst product I’ve ever used. I will never recommend this product to anyone at all!

HairMax Results Didn’t Turn Out as Claimed

This e-mail can't be more plainly said about how disappointing HairMax is. Read on, and discover for yourself how fraudulent the claims of HairMax are.

Ever since my hair started thinning, I’ve always made myself a regular on forums and sites involving hair loss talks. Several products were recommended to me, but I’ve always had this fascination on technological innovations and so I finally decided to try the HairMax LaserComb. Their product sounded very promising; however, it’s unfortunate for me to discover that the results were very far from their claims.

After using the HairMax LaserComb for more than a year, there was no sign of even the slightest hair growth as the manufacturers claimed. I felt pathetic and helpless the longer I used it. I made the wrong choice of purchasing the HairMax LaserComb and have fallen for their clever tactics and their huge advertising machine. Even worse, I have placed my trust on their FDA seal of approval only to find out that it meant nothing more than their products being safe to use but do not guarantee efficacy in bringing hair regrowth.

I personally believe that we, the hair loss sufferers, still have a lot to learn about this humbling and crippling condition. I doubt if we can ever find a product whose manufacturers are genuinely concerned about us — manufacturers who will see us as human beings more than a prospective customer who will bring them sales and money. HairMax has failed me in more ways than one. I’ve never felt more deceived and my sympathy goes to the other hair loss sufferers who placed their trust on a huge scam like HairMax.

HairMax LaserComb and Its Inefficiency in Stimulating Hair Re-growth

I'd once again like to post a 3-part series of hair loss product reviews. And once again, the featured product is HairMax. Hope you learn from this user's experience too.

I am one of the desperate millions out there who are looking for the right hair loss treatment to end my worsening hair loss problem.

I began to suffer from hair loss almost 4 years ago. I never did think that I will succumb to this condition but then again I was mistaken. For years, I was in constant look-out for the latest hair loss treatment products that would put an end to my hair loss dilemma.

I first had my bitter taste of disappointment in terms of choosing a hair loss treatment two years ago. This was when I decided to make use of the HairMax LaserComb. I first learned of this supposed hair re-growth product in a health magazine and again in a series of television advertisements.

For someone like me who was very desperate to end my hair loss, it did not take long before I finally convinced myself to purchase my very own HairMax LaserComb. Indeed, for a year I was hoping and believing that this product would ultimately conquer my hair loss dilemma, but then again I was wrong.

I was very devastated because for a year of using this laser hair comb, I never saw positive hair re-growth. Though I noticed that my hair was becoming shinier, still this was not my primary aim. What I wanted was to end my worsening male pattern baldness and to experience hair re-growth, but in vain it never did come. I was really disappointed; I cannot believe that I fell victim to the HairMax LaserComb because I was blinded by their misleading marketing strategies.

Because of my experience with the HairMax LaserComb, I made a vow to conduct a thorough research before deciding to buy a new hair loss treatment product.

Before Buying HairMax, Read This!

I think it most appropriate to end the series with this review. I appreciate its being straightforward. Also, with this review, I greatly sense concern for other persons with hair loss who are also on the lookout for truly effective baldness treatments.

HairMax uses misleading messages and exploits ambiguities in order to increase their sales for the season! It increased my shedding, gave me scalp itch, and worse, my patience cost me my money-back guarantee. Now, I’m still bald, still balding and still very disappointed.

I’ve been struggling with significant hair loss for more than three years before I finally decided to attend to it with several hair loss products. I’ve tried fortified and specialized shampoos, minoxidil, and a few herbal techniques but none of them met my criteria of what is desirable or satisfactory hair growth, if they ever worked at all. So I ditched them all without hesitation. Actually I couldn’t care less investing on products that don’t come in high price tags; otherwise, I would be far less indifferent especially when a product promises regrowth within a period where I can still have my money back. This is why I am writing this review and it’s all about HairMax.

HairMax is a pioneering product using laser comb technology. It holds the reputation of everything that followed it. After having been impressed with its features, design, and especially its ‘FDA clearance’, I ordered the HairMax Premium Lux 9 for almost $500 as was advised for my condition. The footnote says:

The HairMax LaserComb Premium is cleared for marketing by the FDA for the Promotion of Hair Growth in males with Androgenetic Alopecia who have Norwood-Hamilton classifications of IIa-V and Fitzpatrick skin types I to IV.

It also says that it can regrow hair as early as 20 weeks and so it comes with a 20-week money-back guarantee. Sounds pretty encouraging, right? But 42 weeks passed, and my hair loss is still the way it was before. I also experience scalp itch since the treatment began. I got very annoyed and it only added to my distress. Perhaps I’m only upset of the fact that it didn’t meet my expectations and of course, of the fact that I couldn’t get my money back anymore.

So here’s my piece of advice. First, if you ever thought of purchasing HairMax, you should get the facts straight BUT you may have to get it from other sources other than the manufacturer itself. They will not divulge any straight-to-the-point information at all and will probably say, ‘It’s the way of advertising’.

I felt totally deceived when I really learned that they are NOT APPROVED by the FDA in terms of effectiveness. Its clearance only implicates safety and similarity to pre-existing products (for what it’s worth). Nothing more.

HairMax LaserComb: The Hair Regrowth Product that Never Was!

This is the 2nd of the 3 HairMax reviews.

I have switched from one hair loss product to another just to test which one would be best in helping me overcome my ongoing hair loss dilemma.

Yes, I’ve tried products like minoxidil, finasteride and HairMax LaserComb for a year now and I have noticed that my hair doesn’t get the growth that these products have promised in their colorful and deceptive advertisements. I also started to experience side effects like skin irritation, scalp itchiness and headache. With that, I stopped using these treatments altogether.

My first encounter with the HairMax LaserComb was in a men’s magazine. There was an article about the product and by reading it I was convinced to buy my very own HairMax LaserComb.

At first, I was very excited to use this product because I really did believe that the HairMax LaserComb would help me conquer my hair loss dilemma. But then, I thought wrong. Why do I say this? It’s because for almost a year of using this product, my balding condition did not improve, not even the slightest hint of hair re-growth was noticeable. Though I can feel that my hair was becoming shinier, probably because of the effect of the laser comb, but again this is not why I bought it in the first place. My main reason is to experience hair re-growth which never did happen.

During the period of using the product, my excitement turned into frustration mainly because I felt betrayed and a little saddened that I wasn’t able to experience positive hair growth.

Now, because of my bad experience with the HairMax LaserComb and other hair loss treatment products, I’ve learned to be very careful and to assess the products before even thinking of buying them. From now on, when it comes to hair loss treatment products, I vow never to make impulsive decisions because not only is money at stake here, but also my effort, time and commitment. Moreover, even my health can be jeopardized if I make the wrong choice to buy a wrong product.

HairMax Puts Premium on Sales above All

With the many e-mails I've been getting, I think it right to post a series of personal reviews this time. These 3 reviews are accounts of actual HairMax users — well, former users, that is.

For many years, the HairMax LaserComb has been a safe treatment for men and women suffering from hair loss worldwide. Its claims revolve along the lines of stopping hair loss, stimulating hair regrowth, and improving overall scalp health. But sadly, that is only as far as HairMax is concerned.

Initially, I was led to believe that their product can regrow hair with all its bogus claims about hair regrowth. It was unwise of me to take the claims of HairMax at face value. Only lately did I find out that FDA has approved the device only for safety. In other words, the government agrees that the HairMax LaserComb is safe to use, but it does not guarantee that it works. In fact, the American Hair Loss Association does not recommend the use of this laser comb for the treatment of any form of hair loss.

In most cases, HairMax is unable to grow hair on bald spots and has shown limited results to parts of the head with existing hair only, not on the bald areas. It is therefore not a solution to hair loss in as much as it is to thinning hair. It doesn’t really address baldness or its causes. How then did it evolve to be the hair loss treatment it claims to be now? Why HairMax remains popular up to this day is because a lot of people have been lured by their false advertising and marketing strategies.

What I also don’t like about HairMax is their poor customer service. One time my LaserComb didn’t work so I had to call their hotline for technical support only to be told that I haven’t followed the instructions in the user manual and put me on hold for what seemed like eternity just to transfer me to their product expert. They don’t even make follow-up calls to monitor progress or address concerns. They’re only accommodating once the customer purchases their product but once you’ve fallen for their clever tactics, you’re already left to deal on your own with whatever disappointing results you’ll have.

HairMax LaserComb Is a Bad Joke: Ineffective and a Poor-Quality Device

Surely, utter disappointment or frustration can let out 'harsh' words from you, but those words can be truthful nonetheless. With this e-mail, the truth that hurts is tossed to HairMax.

I know low-level laser therapy has yet to prove itself to the hair loss treatment industry, but not to me. I’ve seen it for myself: what it can do and what it actually did on me. For almost a year and a half, I’ve been patronizing LLLT from one of the trusted hair clinics here to treat my baldness and regrow my hair. Thus far, I’ve seen continuously good results. But then because the costs were becoming more and more of a burden to my pocket, I had to find a similar alternative but less the hassle of running into clinics and the costs—the reason I wound up with laser combs, HairMax in particular. I reckoned that if office-based LLLT is effective on me, why shouldn’t laser combs work? A well-grounded rationale.

There came a time when I thought that people who wouldn’t want to spend a bunch of legwork to research about quality laser combs would just go visit HairMax online stores and click that order button without hesitation. But it was too late when I realised it was the gullible person in me taking over my economic actions.

I purchased the HairMax LaserComb Professional 12 at $545 (a pretty reasonable price for a promising product with a 10- to 15-year shelf life), hoping that I’ll be their next addition to the 93 percent who ‘successfully’ treated hair loss and regrew their hair with it. But nothing came out right after my purchase. I feel the need to explain how I’m totally unimpressed with its design. It’s like a plastic cordless telephone toy you can buy from a cheap alley store, and that I could just break off into two without so much effort. But that’s only the tip of my story.

I actually couldn’t care less about the poor design. What I most cared for was its efficacy. To my utter disappointment, my baldness only worsened. First, I didn’t see any POSITIVE results at all in the first three months. My hair is still beneath the surface—in hiding. Still I told myself that that was quite reasonable. So I stretched my patience until the 7th month but I slowly felt deceived, annoyed, and angry: the hairs I recovered from my previous treatment were slowly disappearing, until now!

I did think that my condition got worse because I changed my treatment modality. But no, HairMax possesses the qualities almost similar to clinical therapies. So I’m firm with conviction that this device just didn’t work! I don’t know where exactly it could’ve faltered, but I’m sure there really is something faulty about the product. Now aside from the fact that I just lost my chance to get my money back and made a poor decision, thinking about how all the money and effort of getting treated have went down the drain just adds to my overall stress right now! I’m back to nothing. Thank you, HairMax, you made me realise you’re nothing but a horrible nightmare!

A Blatant Misleading HairMax Advertisement

With a technical aspect to point out, this e-mail surely increased my awareness of HairMax's claims. I'm sure this can enlighten you too.

I am a skeptic when it comes to hair loss treatment products. This is probably because I have spent quite a sum of money and effort when it comes to the treatment of my worsening hair loss condition.

However, no matter how skeptic I’ve become, I made it a point to acquaint myself with the latest news on the hair loss treatment industry. Though I stopped using Rogaine for quite a while now, I’ve been searching for the right treatment hoping that someday I can put an end to my hair loss woes.

I first learned about the HairMax LaserComb in a magazine a year ago. In the advertisement, they claimed that they have stimulated hair regrowth in most of their buyers. With that, I became curious about the claims of this product. So, what I did was search for news relating to this new treatment approach.

I began to search through lots of articles and I found out an interesting article about this product. The article was about the misleading advertisements propagated by HairMax regarding their so-called FDA approval. In the said article, the author alleged that the HairMax LaserComb is not as effective as it claims to be. How? Well, by simply explaining the contents of the report made by the FDA about the HairMax LaserComb product.

The FDA ‘cleared’ the HairMax LaserComb as a 510(k) device that may be promoted or advertised to treat thinning hair. However, they did not grant FDA ‘approval’ of the product. Moreover, they did not state that the product is effective in the treatment of hair loss and stimulating hair regrowth.

The truth of the matter is that FDA does not grant ‘approval’ on a product based on a 510(k) submission, it only CLEARS the product for marketing. It is, therefore, not legal to advertise a 510(k) cleared device as ‘FDA approved’.

With that, I began to wonder if the HairMax LaserComb would effectively help in hair regrowth as what they always claim in many of their advertisements. Thanks to HairMax, now I feel very much betrayed. A word of advice for the others: please, read the FDA report first before you rush on and do something reckless that might cause you greater inconveniences in the future, especially when it comes to hair loss treatment products.

HairMax Is Just Another Bunko!

Here's another one about HairMax, a complaint that is. I hope that this can still help narrow down your hair loss treatment options, by crossing out HairMax from your list.

I am an unsatisfied customer of the HairMax LaserComb. I purchased it together with its hair and scalp care products in the hopes of getting only the optimum results. But to my very dismay, my hair remained the same and my hair loss, still going its natural course. Then, it occurred to me, I was too blinded by ‘FDA’s promotion of the product’.

I am a 38-year-old male who has been losing his hair for almost 3 years now. I’ve started using treatments only last year, Propecia to be exact, but I discontinued my use after a few months. I’ve learned about HairMax from one of its online ads days after discontinuing Propecia, which then prompted me to go search more about the product.

HairMax LaserComb is marketed with an FDA clearance as a cosmetic device. As a not-so-informed consumer, you would probably think it an effective product to regrow your hair. The fact is it is so hard to find any information that would lead us, customers, into thinking an FDA clearance doesn’t have anything to do with efficacy at all. For the record, ladies and gents, an FDA clearance may only be associated with the safeness of the product and not the effectiveness in any way. The FDA doesn’t have any opinion about its efficacy by only clearing the product for marketing.

An FDA clearance actually implies that a product is only comparable to similar preexisting products which may or may not be effective. The bottom line is that the FDA is hands-off with regard to its efficacy.

The FDA clearance was the main aspect about the product that drew me into it. I feel deceived and sick with all these marketing tactics, these persuasive messages, and all these misleading information just so people would hit that order button regardless of whether or not they would actually return your money back to you. What of time?

My Personal HairMax LaserComb Experience

I'd like to post one of the many e-mails I got from people who were similarly disappointed of a purchased hair loss product. Below is an account of another frustration from buying HairMax.

I was reading the Men’s Health magazine when I saw an article dedicated for hair loss treatments. They mentioned the HairMax LaserComb and said that lots of men experience positive hair regrowth from using it.

When I saw this article, I began to get curious about this hair loss treatment solution. So, I bought myself my very own HairMax LaserComb which cost me a great deal of money. However, since I was desperate to stop my male pattern baldness, I took the risk believing that I would experience hair regrowth like the claims made by other people.

Per the instructions included with the unit I have received, I need to comb my hair 10 to 15 minutes per treatment, front-to-back and then side-to-side, moving the laser comb to another scalp area every four seconds. The treatment should be done three days a week and the laser comb should be used when the hair is free of styling products and other chemicals. For almost 5 months, I performed the treatment as per the instructions—for 15 minutes after showering every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning.

During the 5-month period of using the HairMax LaserComb, I never noticed any significant hair growth. Yes, my hair is shinier compared before, but other than that, the positive hair regrowth that they claimed along with this treatment never came.

I was very disappointed because I did not get what the HairMax LaserComb has promised in their advertisements. I was definitely not satisfied with the HairMax LaserComb product.

Though I won’t say conclusively that if I were to continue to use the HairMax LaserComb I wouldn’t experience positive results; however, I feel that it’s not really worth it for me to continue to try. It would be just a waste of time on my part to carry on with the treatment knowing that I have not experienced any positive hair regrowth given the relatively long 5 months I used it.
